Slotted Capstan Screws host a cylindrical head that features a number of radially symmetrical holes, which can be used for the insertion of a lever, cable or wire, which is then regularly turned around or wound around the screw to adjust the tension.
They are relatively unique in that they can be driven using their slotted drive with a bit, or via their radial holes.
Applications that the Slotted Capstan Screw can be found in include metrology, the science of measurement, or most often within musical instruments such as pianos, due to their fine incremental adjustment capabilities.
Available in A1 Stainless Steel, Nylon/Plastic, and Brass, with other materials also available, with a range of finishes or coatings available.
As standard, Slotted Capstan Screws are available in M3 to M6. Optional thread locking patches are also available on request.
