Set screws are used to fix the relative position of the parts. The head has slot and hexagon socket. Slotted and hexagonal sockets are easy to sink into parts. The end of the set screw varies according to the requirements. Generally, the most commonly used three types are cone end, flat end and dog end.
Socket Set Screws with Cone Point are made to DIN 914 standard, featuring a pointed tip which allows the screw to penetrate into flat surfaces.
The point can also provide an increased efficiency on assembly lines as it allows the screw to be centralised in a pre-drilled hole.
Cone point set screws have a sharp, cone-shaped point that wedges into the contact material thus delivering the strongest torsional and axial holding power of all the set screw styles. They are most often utilized in permanent settings, though they can also be used as a pivot or hanger.
